Don’t panic! There are ways to find out all these things if you forget them.

If you can’t remember your Mastodon password:

1. Go to your server’s website
2. Click the “Sign in” button
3. Click “Forgot your password”
4. Enter your email and click “Reset password”, this will email you a password reset link where you can choose a new password

If you can’t remember which email address you signed up with, or which server you signed up on:

1. Go to your email app
2. Search for the keyword “mastodon”
3. Look for the confirmation email you received when you signed up on your server
4. Your email address will be in the header of the confirmation email, your server’s name will be in the main body of the confirmation email

I can’t remember my password and I no longer have access to the email address I used to sign up with. What now?

If you can’t access your account, you can contact your server’s admin by email and they may be able to help you regain access. See the guide to contacting your server admin for details on how to do this.
